Lecture 1:              Trends in Chemistry Teaching

Lecture 2:              Lesson plan and Lesson note

Lecture 3:              Organization of the chemistry laboratory

Lecture 4:              Duties of laboratory personnel (technologist, assistant,                                           & attendant)

Lecture 5:              Record keeping in the chemistry laboratory

Lecture 6:              Methods of Teaching Chemistry

Lecture 7:              Innovative Methods of Teaching Chemistry

Lecture 8:              Evaluation of chemistry textbooks

Lecture 9:              Practicum in Chemistry teaching (Microteaching)


Course Goal:


To guide the students in learning the various concepts contained in the course contents and be able to solve problem related to the concepts with at least 95% proficiency.

Course Delivery Strategy

 

The course delivery system is composed of both theoretical and practice-based teaching.

In class lectures and online supplement will be the major methods of course delivery   for theoretical aspects.

 

For practice-based teaching, students will be assigned into groups(5-10 in a group) with members of the group making a presentations of  about 10 minutes each(including presentation and feedback time).
